We got such a lovely email from Cynthia Carvajal, CEO of Ocean Lifeline, organizers of the Mermaid Lagoon benefit that took place last month in Brooklyn, that we’ve decided to share it here. We’re especially pleased to share their mission, their video and their images. Thank you, Cynthia, for giving us the opportunity to participate in your wonderful event.
Dear Susan, Christine, Sarah and Gwendolyn,
Thank you so much again for your MOM nail polish donation for the Mermaid Lagoon auction. The event was a huge success and we are so happy that we raised $2,000 for ORCA Peru and The Water Keeper Alliance.
Mermaid Lagoon was created in 2010 by Kai Altair as a way for her to give back to the ocean after the release of her debut EP ‘Star of the Sea.’ This year Kai teamed up with Ali Luminescent, Dr. Debra Tillinger a.k.a ‘Dr. Mermaid‘ and Cynthia Carvajal of Ocean Lifeline to make an even bigger splash. Co-producing the event, and swimming in success, this one of a kind Mer-team is ready to make more waves all over the world together, and plan to collaborate further in the future to help the ocean and her creatures. Ocean Lifeline created a short video to share “who we are and what we do”. The goal of the OLL art shows and ocean awareness campaigns is to bring the community together, reconnecting us to the oceans.
