The Australian Conservation Foundation has contacted us to help them get the word out about a campaign they have just launched with the help of their own small pod of mermaids down under in Australia.
The campaign is to support the Australian government’s proposed national marine reserve network, the first and largest in the world. The network’s not law yet (and some sports fishers and commercial fishers are opposing it), so over the coming weeks they are urging Australians and people from around the world to get behind it, show how deep their love is for the oceans and support the proposed network. This has them making a hand gesture in the shape of a heart, photographing themselves doing that and sending it to the Australian Environment Minister,Tony Burke.
If you’d like to participate in this campaign, titled “How deep is your love?” take a photo of yourself, your colleagues, your friends and family, making the heart shape with your hands, and post it with the #howdeep hashtag on Twitter and elsewhere in the social media sphere. We love the idea and wanted to share it. We hope you do too.
